Tidy Towns/ Green School April Spring Clean 2018
Thanks to all who joined our Tidy Towns and Green School April Spring Clean which took place on Saturday 28th Apri. We gathered 5 bags of rubbish from the Biodiverstiy , set down area and perimeter of the school.
GAA skills started with our Junior and Senior Infants today with coach Chris. The coaching will continue for the next 6 weeks every Tuesday. The Junior and Senior Infants are DELIGHTED!!!
Presentation on Cladding Colours
Thanks to all the parents who attended the presentation of the proposed colours for the Kingspan cladding for the extension to St. Joseph’s N.S. last night. The link for the propsed plans is above and your views are very welcome. A decision on the cladding colours has to be made in the next week so that the build is completed for the new school year.
Our 5th classes enjoyed two very interesting days in Dún an Rí Forest Park where they examined the flora and fauna of a woodland habitat with botanist Shailagh Healy as part of our Biodiversity Project.
Our Cake Sale was organised by our 5th classes today in the hall. All the classes came to buy the delicious baking of a huge selection of buns, pastries and cookies. Thanks to all who supported the Cake Sale. Congratulations to Amy Carey and to Ms. Malone’s class for displaying great entrepreneurship, planning skills and lovely manners. WE RAISED €484.15 – AN INCREDIBLE FEAT!
Thanks to all our parents who generously supported our Scholastic Book Fair 2018. We are very pleased that it generated €1968 in free books for our school. These
books will be used to replenish and renew library books in both classroom libraries and the school library. Thanks to Mrs. M. Duff for organising another very successful Book Fair!
Our 5th class are organising a cake sale tomorrow Friday 20th April in aid of our Autistic Unit. Don’t forget to bring in money as there will be a great spread of cakes for sale in the school hall.
Closing date for Art and Slogan competition is 1st May.
