4th Class Tour- Natural History Museum and Croke Park

Mellowes School Tour- Senior Infants

Senior Infants enjoyed their tour on Friday to Mellowes Adventure Centre in Athboy. They enjoyed the adventure park and were then taken on a tour of the gardens. They drove their grand prix pedal cars around the circuit and had an opportunity to play mini golf. They met with some of the animals in the Pet’s Corner. Finally they enjoyed the music marquee where they danced to the music. A great day was had by all. Thanks to our teachers Mrs. Cassidy, Mrs. Donegan and Bernie Nulty for organising this trip.

Ecology Project

Ms. Sankey undertakes an ecology project with our 1st class pupils based on exploring some of the habitats around our school. The pupils enjoyed collecting lots of insects and bugs and identifying their characteristics.

3rd Class Tour- Dublin Zoo

3rd Class Tour- Dublin Zoo

We are pupils from 3rd class and we enjoyed a fantastic day in Dublin Zoo.  There are 400 different animals in Dublin zoo. We walked through the African Savanna where we saw giraffe, zebras , rhinoceros ,oryx, ostrich and the chimpanzees all wander through this area. The reptile house was very hot and very exciting. We got a chance to milk a cow at the family farm. Thanks to our teachers Ms. Mc Geough and Mrs. Rogers for organising a terrific tour.

Lots of pupils decorated boots, runners and old shoes and there were lots of coloured socks and shoes of every variety worn for this walk. The local Fire Brigade led the walk and our local Gardai also accompanied the walkers. Our walk to school days are all part of our project to achieve our 4th Green Flag for transport. Thanks to Mrs. Burns our Green School coordinator and our busy Green School Committee for all their work. We had a great day. Happy walking!
