We have just had our Juvenile All Irelands in Cork last weekend and we have a few winners in our school from Shercock Athletic Club. The winners were MichaelMcCullagh, Garreth Morris, Aine Corbally, Clara Duffy, and Grace Mc Cormac. All did excellent.   Aine Corbally is running  in the seniors in Tullamore  this weekend. Michael Mc Cullagh came 8th in the long jump and  4th in the relay  and 1st and 2nd in the 500m because he was in a team. Garreth Morris came 7th in the  ball throw.

4th Class School Tour to the Ulster American Folk Park

We went on our school tour to Omagh and we visited the Ulster American Folk Park. We viewed all the different types of houses in Ireland at that time from the poorest house to the wealthy weavers house. We visited Thomas Mellon’s house. He emigrated to American along with lots of other Irish people due to the famine and potato blight.  We viewed a replica emigration boat that they would have sailed on. The conditions were very cramped and lots ot people were sick on this boat.  We entered the repilca log cabins that were built  in American and the merchants stores and the goods that they sold at that time. Thanks to our teachers Mrs. Mc Loughlin and Ms. Carroll for organising a super school tour.
